Let's get to know the studs of miso's upcoming litter! You might be wondering why and how there is two studs. This is what is known as a dual sired litter. We work closely with a reproductive vet and 99.9% of our litters are conceived there through Artificial Insemination or Transcervical Insemination. (Stay tuned for a future blog on the pros an cons of insemination and why we prefer them! ) In this litter we can have some puppies sired from Keanu and some sired by Enzo or all the puppies can be sired by just one of the studs. Once puppies are born we will be completing DNA Parentage to determine who is the father of each puppy. There are many reasons why a dual sired litter can be beneficial. In this specific case something came up and the stud owner was unable to send a second shipment and we were unable to meet up since they lived across the country. With the window of miso being able to get pregnant closing we came to the decision with our reproductive vet to use our local back up for a better guarantee of the breeding taking. Lucky for us it took and we are excited to find out if one or both of the dads sired this litter! The first stud we used is Enzo. Enzo is a stunning petite multigen goldendoodle who lives and is owned by Breeder Friends in Texas. He weighs only 14lbs and is 14” tall. He comes from amazing lines and has produced some stunning puppies in the past. He has also completed genetic and OFA (hips, elbows, cardiac, and CAER) testing. The second stud is a familiar pup with Rolling Oak Doodles! Keanu has sired a few of our previous litters over the years. He is a stunning mini Goldendoodle owned by a local breeder friend. He weighs 25lbs and is 18” tall. He has produced some awesome puppies for us in the past. He has also completed genetic and OFA (hips, elbows, patella, cardiac, and CAER) testing. A fun fact for anyone who is interested in genetics is both Miso, Enzo, and Keanu are "ee kbky". All the puppies they produce will be “ee” and appear to be white to red like the typically Goldendoodle look however a few puppies genetically can be phantom or sable. Phantom is a color like a Doberman, German Shepherd, or the classic Bernedoodle that’s black with the tan points. Sables are born the color of Dobermans, German Shepherds, or the classic Bernedoodle look but their color clears as they get older. We have some examples posted on our Facebook page! With all that being said follow along to find out who the father is!
